When You Lose You learn More

Everyone likes to win and succeed. When you lose, you have more drive to learn and grow, because you are born with the drive to succeed inside you. When you win, you have more of a tendency to enjoy the fruits of winning. We will explore why you learn more when you lose rather than winning.

Losing helps you better handle surprises and disappointments, helps you to keep your ego in check, and serves as a good reality check. It can help you pinpoint an error your making or inspire more practice and improvements.

Learn When You Lose

Learning When You Lose

Losing confronts you with the fact that there’s a problem

Whether it be a silly one-time mistake, a flaw in how you learned something, or another type of error, the fact that you lost means there’s an area that could use improvement in your process or your efforts. The will to win forces you to confront this error and allows you to work to improve and correct it.

When you win, not only do you think you’ve got it right, making you feel like you have everything down right. It causes you to run the risk of stagnating, rather than continuing to improve in life.

Losing provides an ego check

When you lose, you face the fact that you’re not perfect. So long as you handle the loss appropriately, you’ll learn that you, like everyone else, have room for improvement.

It also helps you to realize that no matter how good you are, there’s always someone better to come along that can beat you and that’s okay. You do your best, and it’s all anyone can ask of you.

Losing helps to teach you how to cope

We all know that some things in life are simply out of our control. You can’t do anything to prevent them; they happen, and you have to deal with it. Losing can be a great teaching tool in those exact moments. If you lose graciously, chances are when these moments occur; you’ll be able to handle them and withstand the storm.

When you’ve experienced nothing but winning, losing hits you so much harder, you don’t understand what you did wrong, blame yourself, and take the hit so much harder than others. You have a harder time getting back up on your feet after the disappointment. Losing can be a great learning opportunity for these exact moments.

Everyone loves to win, but, unfortunately, we can’t win all the time. Everyone has to experience loss at some point or another, but it’s how you handle that loss that genuinely defines your character. Losing can be a great learning opportunity to help you better yourself and excel beyond your wildest dreams, so long as you are open to it.

Why you learn more when you lose rather than winning. Use your losing experiences to serve as motivation and inspiration to work harder, practice more, learn something, and better yourself. Don’t waste it by being bitter towards the winner. The only way to be a real loser is to learn nothing from the loss itself.

Boost Your Motivation to Achieve Success

Boost your motivation to achieve success. Unfortunately, many of us lack the necessary motivation to achieve our goals, which has put our life on hold. If you have lost the motivation to get started on your heart’s desire, there are several ways that you can boost your motivation and get back on track to achieving your goals. Here are several tips to help increase your motivation to achieve success.Boost Your Motivation

Look at the Glass Half Full
Life is full of challenges. If you are feeling unsuccessful and need to boost your motivation, try being more optimistic and practice looking at the glass as being half full when you face challenges. It may feel strange at first, but over time, your brain’s neurons will start to focus on what inspires and motivates you.

Review the Happiness Level of Your Social Network
You need to examine whether or not the relationships you have offer support, encouragement, inspiration, and education, along with nurturing you, and if they don’t, you need to find and foster other relationships. People are generally happier when the people they spend the most time with are happy people. To increase your happiness and motivation, surround yourself with more happy people.

Develop a Personal Development Plan for Success
Setting goals aren’t just for assisting us in attaining better cars, houses, or more income. When you change the focus of your goals, they can shift to expand beyond physical limits. To do this, you have to have a personal development plan for success.

Invest in Personal Development
Your development plan for success will provide you with substantial clues as to what you should be doing. You need to focus on the challenges that you are currently facing. Whatever the problems are that you are now facing, you need to explore activities and educational opportunities that will help you solve them.

Invest in Experiences
If you are continually relying on external things to motivate you, you run the danger of never being satisfied with your life. Instead, you need to consider igniting your motivation internally by investing in experiences that will allow you to feel those feelings that you will have when you are successful. You don’t want to set your sights on the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow; instead, you want to practice feeling success with each step of your journey.

Doing the things that matter to you will help to boost your motivation. With an increase in motivation, you’ll be able to succeed at anything you put your mind to.

Feeling Unmotivated – Find Inspiration

Feeling unmotivated? Here is a plan of action that will put you on a course to regain your zest for life.  When you have the zest for life you can dream and make it happen.

Has your motivation been absent lately? Do you feel unmotivated about your job or your business? Use the following tips to help bring your inspiration back.

Here are 8 tips for getting you out of your rut.

  1. Read Profiles of Successful People

Get inspiration from people who have gone through the pain and effort of what you want to accomplish. Use their success, and more importantly, their failures, to draw inspiration from.  No successful person does it alone. Follow their example and find a person or group of people that are trying to accomplish the same goal you have. Being part of a mastermind group will change your feeling unmotivated.

  1. Open Your Eyes to People Around You

Feeling Unmotivated It is Time for Change

    Feeling Unmotivated

Getting caught up in your day-to-day activities is so easy that you don’t see what others around them are doing. Many times, these other people are doing extraordinary things, and we can use them for our own inspiration. You can do this both at work and in your community. People are always doing amazing things. It just takes some observation to see it.

  1. Revisit Your Own Past

Most people have accomplishments they have forgotten about. Try to remember what you have done in the past that excited and inspired you. Sometimes, just thinking about them can inspire you for your present life.

  1. Keep a Journal

You cannot plan when inspiration is going to pay you a visit. When you get an inspiring idea, if you don’t write it down, you will forget. Carry a small notebook with a pen attached. You could also use a smartphone for this purpose. Just make sure you carry it around with you wherever you go. Taking this action will remove your feeling unmotivated. At the end of your day put these ideas in your journal.

  1. Rely on Hard Work

Inspiration alone will not get much done. We call people that have inspiration without applying action to the inspiration dreamers. When you work hard at something, you will find the work itself inspires you. People find different ways to do things simply by performing the tasks in their job. Sometimes, they try something they haven’t tried before, and it works out in ways they would never have imagined. This only happens because they chose to work hard at their jobs.

  1. Get Outside Your Comfort Zone

This requires you to get rid of the phrase “that is not in my job description”. If you interrupt your brain from its normal way of thinking, it will think in ways you have never thought about before. When feeling unmotivated try to step outside your comfort zone. Do activities that you, and others, would not consider normal for you. When you do this, you are causing your brain to generate new neural pathways and change happens.

  1. Watch Videos on YouTube

Try to find videos that are inspirational or teach something. This is not about watching videos of cats playing with each other or doing other cute things. There are plenty of stories about people who have overcome adversity. This gets the creative process flowing.

  1. Make Lemonade out of Lemons
Granted, this is a bit cliché. But, the message is clear. Try to always turn problems into opportunities. You will never know until you try.

ACTIONABLE STEPS

  1. Read two books in the next couple of weeks about successful people.
  2. Think about a failure you have had in the past year or so. What was the outcome of that failure? What would you do differently if you were given the chance to do it over? Record your answers so that you can refer to them in the future.
  3. Visit The Good Life Mall and join in a forum discussion and comment on two blog articles.
